CRC Dispute - Latest 8

Dear Francis,

Thank you for your letter. Whilst we would have preferred to maintain the dialogue with the unions, we realise that is not possible at the moment because the local union representatives are not attending meetings. Therefore we welcome the suggestion of a meeting with ACAS even though it comes at quite an early point in the current procedures. We are keen to do anything to move things forward.

We are therefore available on the following dates for the meeting at ACAS that you propose:

21 October at any time
31 October after 1pm if the meeting is in Euston
4 November at any time

We would also like to add that we are unable to stop any processes while this dialogue takes place, including our current Voluntary Severance process. Our employees are keen to understand their position and to ensure that they have the ability to plan for the future. As Christmas approaches us we do not want them to suffer uncertainty as a result of any further delay. To that end, we hope that you will be able to meet us on any of the dates proposed above and in the meantime will continue working toward a position of clarity with volunteers as previously indicated.

We will deal with the substantive issues set out in your letter during our meeting at ACAS and we very much hope that we will be able to move forward.

We look forward to receiving your dates and to arranging a time to meet.

  1. It's a dirty job but someone will do it. Hard to see the words Justice adjoined to his title, some twisted irony there.

    1. Always healthy to remind ourselves... "A trained probation officer and former lecturer, Paul has held posts with the National Offender Management Service (NOMS) including as Head of Offender Management Implementation and Head of Offender Management and Assessment, where he was responsible for the management and development of the Offender Assessment System (OASys).

      Paul was Director of Community Solutions with Interserve and was responsible for the operational design and costing of Purple Futures' delivery in the Transforming Rehabilitation Programme."

      Here we have the man who was responsible for OASys. Nuff said.

    2. Lots of jobs, plenty that might risk being described as 'dirty' in some form or other. Let's have some justice for those whose jobs are at risk (needlessly I would argue). What's good for the goose is good for the gander type of justice.

    3. Paul Hindson, esteemed fellow of the probation institute and a robber baron in his day job. It seems that whatever your reputation, the PI welcomes you! Hindson uses that crafty ruse of blaming the unions for withdrawing from meetings, but he knows full well the meetings were mere pretenses because WL was determined to drive through its agenda, evident by the fact of their rejection of the joint secretaries request to halt the severance process. And on top of this cynical abuse of process, he brings Christmas into his wicked brew to seduce employees to take the cheap option.

  2. In addition to his credentials above, PH also went to the school of weasels. Yes, unfair to weasels. Okay, he mentioned it first - so how about the Christmas Grinch, or just plan agent provocateur?

  4. Did you know you had to pay to become a Fellow of the PI? Just check their membership details and how to apply for different grades of membership! Any one of us with money and the right connections can join - reckon I could apply as a hard-working former PO, but am I bothered?

  7. They are completely self serving morally corrupt individuals. The WL cronies! The service is faltering and will soon be on its knees. By Christmas we will not be meeting targets and the money from MOJ will reduce. Any savings from paying off staff will be lost through missing targets and employing agency staff. Meanwhile the Wiseman is in denial with no plan b. SOS! And so the WL Christmas pantomime goes on!

    1. In austere times kind of makes argument for those who want to go on terms not as generous as EVR. Personally I don't believe that to be fair ... The government needs to step up and resolve the many issues it's ill founded revolution has created. No amount of sniping or booing will alter fundamental problems playing out here other than government intervention unless of course they view their revolution unfolding as planned.

    2. Exactement. What are noms paying their contract police for? Essentially, nuffink. The noms supremos 'policing' Sodexo areas (including Mrs Nigel Bennett, he of Kent CRC fame) did sweet FA to rein in the bullying tactics & get Sodexo to honour pre-negotiated terms of EVR, even though Selous & his Lords counterpart made grandstanding statements about "being fair". So why aren't Noms instructing their local CRC whip to get WL/Aurelius to toe the line? Is Mr Hindson's past history with noms getting in the way?
