The Policy Exchange report says it costs £13.14 a day in the UK as opposed to £1.22 in the US - if true, that's quite a mark-up!

As you say, private companies will be dictating policy - actually they are already by funding think tanks like Policy Exchange.

Cheers,

Jim Jim Brownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00258147767051200157noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8578343158425987632.post-30851176359628039732013-07-14T17:01:32.278+01:002013-07-14T17:01:32.278+01:00Where would Grayling be if G4S and other companies...Where would Grayling be if G4S and other companies said they no longer wanted the tagging contracts? Or worse for him we'll do it but want more money.
Would tagging have to go? More importantly to note is the influence that the private sector now holds over the MoJ . Could G4S opperational policies and practice soon be responsible for influencing criminal justice legislation and practice?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8578343158425987632.post-54536102867023414512013-07-14T14:57:19.322+01:002013-07-14T14:57:19.322+01:00You very nicely preempt tomorrows post on the subj...You very nicely preempt tomorrows post on the subject - already written!

Cheers,

JimJim Brownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00258147767051200157noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8578343158425987632.post-90497376768163340882013-07-14T13:30:57.900+01:002013-07-14T13:30:57.900+01:00Any1 else noticed how careful and seeking of evide...Any1 else noticed how careful and seeking of evidence the tories are being regarding the cigarette packaging issue. Shame no such caution applies to TR agenda. Look at the result of each decision. Caution in cig packaging changes = more deaths from smoking. No caution in TR = unknown levels of increased risk/harm. For me this confirms how utterly contemptible this group of rich, priveliged & greed oriented scuzzbuckets are.
