The Cities feature, by the way, sports the logo of the Rockefeller Foundation. The RF set up and funds the global programme 'Resilient Cities', a central part of 'Agenda 21'. The US and Tories wouldn't be interested in anything genuinely humane or enlightening, right? There's always something more in it for them. Looks like circumnavigating legislation could be a motivating factor.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8578343158425987632.post-90484663775544397882017-03-14T20:27:18.684+00:002017-03-14T20:27:18.684+00:00Homelessness is a cause worthy of intervention in ...Homelessness is a cause worthy of intervention in its own right. <br />There's something not quite right about associating it with addiction. When I walk through the town centre early morning it is saddening to see several men buried under blankets and sleeping bags against a shop front with a canopy over head. Something needs to be done as the problem of homelessness is an increasing one and a poor reflection on our civilised society.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8578343158425987632.post-24955817601711172622017-03-14T13:52:35.154+00:002017-03-14T13:52:35.154+00:00Such a scheme is enviably going to be outsourced t...Such a scheme is enviably going to be outsourced to private sector companies. <br />Serco and G4s have already large property portfolios that they use for refugees and asylum seekers. Last meeting I went to I heard senior housing officer state "Isn't he a member of X family? Nah, leopards don't change their spots. Once we let one of them in they'll all be back."<br /><br />Do you think those fascists will embrace such a policy? However, this government aren't exactly renowned for their ability to think over the long term like that (e.g. the work capability assessment costing more to implement than it saves, or the cuts to social care having a massive impact on NHS budgets). I suspect it would only take a couple of tabloid stories about families being passed over for housing in favour of ADDICTS and JUNKIES (I can see the shouty headlines now) for this to waver and fall.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
